Author of 'Raised by Committee' & 'A Matter of Issue'
Words are Carollyne's music and she plays them like a symphony as she blends emotions, action, humour and life into riveting tales of family drama.
Her first novel, "Raised by Committee", took readers on a roller coaster ride through the teen years of a young girl who is sent to live in a children's home, having been made a 'ward of the courts as being in need of moral protection' in 1960's England. "Raised by Committee" has been awarded the B.R.A.G. Gold Medallion Award.
Carollyne's latest novel, "A Matter of Issue", is a contemporary family drama concerning the pitfalls of a 'third act romance'. Like 'Romeo and Juliet', when Charles and Mary [both seniors] reveal their romance to the family, the reaction is not all good. Charles's son, Kirk, is banking on a sizeable inheritance one day, and vows to do whatever it takes to protect it from Mary, the merry widow. As the story unfolds, caring becomes controlling, managing becomes manipulating, and bloodlines become blurry. "A Matter of Issue" has received a five star review from Readers' Favorite ...
With a number of clever little side plots, Haynes has done a wonderful job of wrapping her story around some very big and very underrated societal issues that affect our ever-aging population. With Haynes not afraid to be ruthless in her arcs, I found the book to be an excellent family drama that highlighted a pressing concern. Kudos to the author for this story whose time has come!'
